Inside the Animal Rehab Klinik – Even Your Dog Will Be Impressed!

Hydrotherapy for dogs in Sydney

We had 3 goals that we wanted to accomplish with our fit-out.

1. To bring the outdoors inside.

2. To look nothing like a vet hospital. (No offence to you vets!)

3. This should be a place that or patients enjoy coming to and not be frightened of.

We realised that we could achieve all of the above by following one simple strategy -literally appealing to the 5 senses.

  • Vision – As above, bring the outdoors in. Lots of real live plants & mood-lighting. Also, our rehab equipment is mostly blue and green which are the colours most easily seen by dogs.
  • Hearing – Research shows that background music can have a calmative effect on dogs. Our current selection is a mix of classical & smooth jazz beats.
  • Smell – We diffuse a calmative blend of essential oils tailored for animals.
  • Touch – We use a padded consultation table for our treatments that is fit for humans. You’ll never see a cold stainless steel table in here. We’ve also got areas of padded flooring for our older arthritic patients, and a non-slip rubber flooring for our rehab that’s identical to what you see in a commercial gym. Oh, and our underwater treadmill is heated to a very comfortable 29 degrees!
  • Taste – Can’t go past some tasty all natural, preservative free liver treats to say thanks for being a good boy or girl after each visit!

So there you have it – the Animal Rehab Klinik is definitely a place that your dog will be impressed with!

The fit-out strategy may be simple, but executing it took some time to get it just right. We’ve lost count of the number of times that someone’s told us that it’d like a day spa for pets…and we take that as a huge compliment!
